It has been a long and hot day pet sitting in Scottsdale.

A lot of cat sitting, dog sitting, dog walking and pet sitting in the 113 heat which really does take a lot out of a person jumping in and out of a hot car. When we arrive at a home we are so thankful that it is nice and COOL inside. Until this night…

Here is the story:

I am still in the office and receive a phone call on first my business line, and then my personal line from Amy.
“Oh no” I think. What’s wrong?

You see, the only time both phones ring is if there is a problem that my sitters need to get a hold of me. I answer and soon find out that Amy is sitting in Sophie and Gracie’s home and it is 97 Degrees upon her entering. I drop what I am doing and am at the house in 10 minutes.

SIDE NOTE: When things happen, I step in as immediate back up. Amy still had many pets to tuck into bed before getting to her overnight at 8pm and we couldn’t afford for her to stay with Gracie and Sophie all night until this problem was solved. Our problems will never become our clients.

Managing the problem…

As luck may have it, just that morning on our Facebook Page I gave a huge shout out to an AC company that we really admire here in the valley. I have gotten close with their Marketing gal and just love their company culture, family owned environment. So I dialed AC by Jay. we set up an appointment for first thing in the morning and agreed that I would meet them back at the house.

We made this decision only after consulting with our client who was out of state suggesting that we bring the pups to her friends house that was empty at the time for the night so they could stay cool and so she wouldn’t have to pay the late night emergency after hours fee. Our client didn’t have to worry about a thing as we presented her with the facts, our professional recommendation, and took it on as if it was all on our own.When the girls got to the home they instantly went straight into the pool. I almost did too!

So the ext morning. Amy continued her visits to the pups at the “new house” they were at. I met AC By Jay at the clients home and I am so happy to say they were in the beginning half of their two hour window they gave me. Jason the technician was so polite, explained everything to me, and was out of there in about 30 minutes. A wire had burned out and that caused the problem. Luckily it didn’t effect the compressor. So under $200 later I gave them payment and told the client, don’t worry! We can settle up when you return.

While other companies may charge you for their hours spent problem solving this situation there is no charge at all for this. I believe this should be part of our stellar service and is all a part of providing great customer service. The client didn’t know that this was going to happen – why should they be penalized for it?
